My Thai China- Restaurant Review

We Were All Smiles and our bellies were full……hehehehehehe

I celebrated my 26th birthday 2 weeks ago, of course in Seoul. It was a weekend to remember thanks to my 4 wonderful friends. It was a rainy Saturday afternoon as we wandered through the streets of Itaewon,Seoul in search of something DIFFERENT and TASTY to eat. We were tired of going to the same restaurants to eat, and because it was a very special weekend it was only right to take a chance and try something new to celebrate the festivities. We were like lost kids in a candy store. We stopped in front of a few restaurants to look at their menus and nothing really tickled our fancy, until we came across My Thai China. My Thai China was one of the best restaurant experiences I have had  in my entire life.

Customer Service

Anyone who knows me will tell you that I am very big on customer service, because I was in that industry for 6 years, maybe even longer. I was blown away by their customer service and the manager of the restaurant was so sweet. His English was amazing and he even asked us to critique his English level. He gave us a free bottle of wine because I told him it was my birthday weekend. The manager and one of his employees taught me how to open a wine bottle, because believe it or not I never got the chance to open one before.

Look how focused and helpful they were to me. I felt like I was in a rap video with the last picture lol.

Restaurant Ambiance

The restaurant is medium in size and has a very homely feeling to it. The decor is dark and romantic. It is perfect for lovers and those at the beginning stages of dating hehehehehe. The wooden chairs and tables, the beautiful paintings on the walls and knitted pillows give the restaurant an ancient look. I was also on cloud 9, because I was obsessed with the music they were playing. They played hip hop and the latest pop hits. I was jamming, while eating. WHAT BEATS THAT? EXACTLY. The waiters were amazing. And best of all, the food was DELICIOUS.

Food and Price

We ordered,
spring rolls
Chicken Cashew Nut Stir-fry
Sweet and Sour Chicken (my favourite Chinese food)
Lek Hang Moo Dang (spicy Thai noodle)
Shrimp Fried Rice

The spring rolls were  crispy and tasty. The sweet chilli sauce accompanying the spring rolls
was also yummy. The Chicken Cashew nut had cashews on top of the dish and the seasoning and sauce was just right. The Sweet and Sour Chicken was simply amazing. EVERYTHING WAS JUST RIGHT. The Lek Hang Moo Dang was a spicy noodle that my friend really enjoyed. The shrimp fried rice was also just right and tasted exactly like the ones I have had back home in Canada.

The things on the menu are all fairly priced. It is a great place to take a group to eat as you can all order various dishes and share them. For the four of us we paid 96,000 thousand won and it was totally worth it. That includes appetizers, mains, mock-tails and cocktails! They threw in the Rose wine for free!

It is behind the back alley of Hamilton Hotel. It is a little hidden, so if you get lost give them a ring at 02-794-8090. It’s below a Mexican place and Greek place. Opposite a few pasta and pizza joints.

118-20 Itaewon-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, South Korea

If you are craving Chinese and Thai food, this restaurant is right for you. If you are tired of Korean food lol, or need a break from it, this restaurant is right for you. If you are looking for a positive restaurant experience, this restaurant is right for you. If you are in search of trying a new restaurant, this restaurant is right for you. If you are hungry and want yummy food, this restaurant is right for you. I strongly recommend anyone in Korea or coming to Korea to definitely check this place out, and oh thank me later! I am definitely going to visit Thai China again and again before I leave Korea and give their many other items a try.
