 Entrance

Look, mommy I made it.

There will be lots of monkeys once you reach the top

                                                                  Monkey Business

Who?

1. Hikers
2. Those in need of an adventure
3. Those looking for a mental and physical challenge
4. Those in need of a breathtaking view
5. Outdoor lovers
6. Nature lovers

Squad goals or nah?

I was so fortunate to go on this hike with these amazing human beings above. You get picked up from your hotel and there will be other people that the driver has to pick up along the way.

What?

To see the sunrise.

This is so worth it, I promise you.

Where?

Batur Village, Kintamani, Bali

When?

Everything in life has a downside right? Well for non early risers like me this would be the hardest part. You would get picked up around 2ish in the morning. It takes about a half hour to get to Kintamani. Once you get there, you will meet your tour guides. OURS WERE AMAZING. Every time we stopped for breaks or wanted to give up they would motivate us to keep going.

It takes about 2 hours to get up and 2 hours to get back down. I personally think it was easier coming back down, but some would say the opposite.

It was a bit strenuous towards the top, but the view made up for it. The hardest part is starting, but remember the view at the top is so rewarding and absolutely worth it.

You will get breakfast before and after the hike. Before the hike we got crepes with bananas as a topping and a choice of coffee or tea.

Once we reached the top we got banana sandwiches with boiled eggs (on the side).

-They do sell stuff once you get to the top, so you could bring money with you.

TIP: Bring a flashlight, but they do provide one, but is not that good.

Lake Batur

HOT STEAM AREA

The Crater

How?

You could book this hike with any tour company or have your hotel book it for you.
There are stands all over to book different tours, but I recommend having your hotel book it for you.

DO NOT PAY MORE THAN 300,000 IDR FOR THIS TOUR.
Minimum-250,000
Maximum-300,000

This is roughly 18 to 25 (USD)

TIP: Download the currency app on your phone. IT WILL DEFINITELY COME IN HANDY!!!

This is the hot steam area. Such a cool experience.

Why?

-To watch the beautiful sunrise
-To try something new and challenging
-To meet Balinese locals on your way back down
-To meet and interact with new people.
Balinese locals on their daily routine.

Most of us struggled to climb up the mountain, but for Balinese locals this is there everyday trek. They have heavy loads, slippers on  and a big smile. I learned so much about their daily routine, but they also taught me so much about life. The more you practice or do something the easier it gets.

“GEE WE DID IT, LET’S LEAVE THIS IMPRINT.”

Never look back
